Joseph's father, John DEARDEN'S occupation was Fustian Cutter, employer of 7 women and 25 boys and girls.

Joseph DEARDEN & Margaret FORD married on 18 April 1878, Joseph was aged 23, bachelor, Joiner of Wilmslow, son of John DEARDEN, fustian cutter and Margaret was aged 22, Spinister, from the Hough, daughter of John FORD, farmer. Joseph & Margaret both signed in the presence of Richard KEAY (Margaret's soon-to-be brother-in-law) and Mary FORD (Margaret's sister).
