FOOTBALLER DIES AFTER COLLISION IN GAME Edwin Bertram Ford, 28, farmer of Marionvale, captain of Katandra team in the Central Goulburn Valley Football League, died in Mooroopna Hospital last night as a result of a collision with another player in the third quarter of the Ardmonda-Katandra match on Saturday. Although temporily stunned, he played on until the end of the game. At his home in the evening he became ill and was taken to hospital. He was one of the best -known footballers in the district.

There is much regret at Richmond yesterday at the announcement that Eddie Ford had died as a result of a collision while playing at Katandra. Ford who was on the 1942 and 1943 lists was settling down nicely when he found it necessary to return home.
