WORRALL,WILLIAM,SHIPWRIGHT,RILEY'S GARDEN,LIVERPOOL,S & D,BGS/FMN. The Liverpool Poll book shows the vote of Ann's father in the 1832 election. So Ann's father William must have died betweed 1832 and the census of 1841.
The 1841 Liverpool census listed Ann WORRALL aged 20 living at 12 Ryley Gardens Liverpool, living with her mother Mary aged 49, her grandmother Ann, aged 79, her brother Charles, aged 15, occupation listed as Clerk, brother Thomas, aged 11 and sister Mary aged 12. They may have let rooms as also listed at the same address are Roleston JOHNSON, aged 20, Mariner, George BURROUGH, aged 20, pilot and William SWINDLEY, aged 30, farmer.
On the marriage certificate dated 30th May 1842, Anne WORRALL, spinister, married Joseph FORD, bachelor, occupation Farmer, both of full age ath Christ Church, parish of Liverpool in Lancashire England. Their address was listed as Riley's Gardens. Anne's father was listed as William WORRALL, carpenter and Joseph's father is Joseph FORD, farmer. Anne signs her name without an "e" (Ann) The marriage is witnessed by Elizabeth FORD (most likely Joseph's mother) and William? CALLOW.
1861 census shows Ann, aged 40 living with her Joseph Ford, aged 45, farmer of 64 acres employing one man (Thomas Norbury aged 33, farmers lab, born Mobberley Cheshire) at Hough Bollin Fee, Cheshire. Their first two children, Mary E, aged 17 and John W, aged 15 are listed as being born in Horwich? Lancashire, and the other children, Catherine H, 13, Joseph, 9, Emily A, 6, Agnes E, 3 and baby Edward aged 9 months were all born at Cheshire, Hough. Living with them is Catherine GODFRY (nee WORRALL)aged 37, married, house duties (Ann€™s sister) and her son William GODFRY, aged 7, both born at Liverpool, Lancashire. Catherine WORRALL, spinster of full age had married John GODREY, bachelor, full age, occupation Pilot on the 28th Sept 1850 at St Phillips Church, Liverpool. John GODFRY€™S father was listed as James GODFRY, brewer and Catherine€™s was listed as William WORRALL, book keeper deceased. The marriage was witnessed by her brother Charles Kershaw WORRALL and Margaret EMERY. In the 1851 census Catherine, aged 26 and John GODFREY, aged 25, occupation €“ Pilot are living at 26 Leychester Street Liverpool, both having been born at Liverpool, Lancashire.
The 1871 census lists Joseph FORD age 55, and Ann age 50 with same details as above, however they now have 2 more children, both born at Chester, Bollin Fee. Leonard A, aged 7 and Samuel aged 5. Catherine Godfry is not listed.
The 1881 census shows Joseph, 65 and Ann, 59 at Wilmslow Road, Bollin Fee. They are still farmers of 65 acres. Daughter Catherine Howell, has now married and is listed as Kate CHILD aged 26, her son Earnest aged 3, born at Manchesher, Lancashire are living there and two sons, Leonard, 17 and Sam now aged 15.
Ann Middleton FORD's burial was registered on 16 November 1893, widow of Joseph FORD, The Hough. Ann was buried at St Batholomew's, Wilmslow, Cheshire Section and Row BM8. Also buried at BM8 is her husband, Joseph FORD aged 69 on 19 February 1886, her granddaughter, Hilda Middleton Worrall FORD, aged 7 months 28 July 1888 (daughter of Leonard Arthur and Eliza FORD both buried in section CX3), her son, John William FORD, aged 28, Sept 1873
