Jane Florence ELLIS's family can be traced back to St Just, Penwith, Cornwall, England commencing at her Great Grandparents - Peter ELLIS, baptised on 5th April 1807, died 18th February 1866 and buried 23rd February 1866 at Botallact, St Just, Cornwall and Jane WHITE born 2nd July 1831 at St Just, Penwith, Cornwall. This couple had 9 children all born at St Just Cornwall, England:-

Jane's grandfather was the first born -Peter ELLIS born 1831. At St Just, Penwith, Cornwall (on 28th March 1854) Peter married Nanny DAVEY (born 18th September 1830 at St Just Penwith to parents Michael DAVEY (1782-1846 at St Just) and Louisa TAYLOR (1796-1884 the daughter of John TAYLOR and Mary WILLIAMS). Nanny ELLIS (nee DAVEY) died at age 68 on 14th September 1898 at Katamatite, Victoria, Australia. Peter ELLIS and Nanny DAVEY had two children:
Richard ELLIS born 1860, died 1872 at Meredith, Victoria, Australia aged 12 and Peter ELLIS born in 1864 (Jane's father).
Jane's father, Peter was born at Morrisons, Victoria, Australia in 1864 and died on 26th January 1941 at Tungamah, Victoria, Australia. Peter is buried at Katamatite with his second wife on 27th January 1941.
Jane's mother was Peter's first wife - Mary Goold ROBERTSON who was born on 13th December 1864 at Morse Creek, Ovens Valley, Victoria, Australia, the daughter of Thomas ROBERTSON and Jessie BIRD (born abt 1839, died 1912 at Flemington, Victoria, Australia). Thomas and Jessie were married in 1861 in Victoria and had two children - Mary Goould ROBERTSON and Jane (Jean) Gould ROBERTSON.
Mary Goould ROBERTSON married Peter ELLIS in 1899 and they had 3 children:-
Jane Florence FORD (nee ELLIS) born 17th February 1901 in Myrtleford, Victoria
Jessie Bird ELLIS born 1902 Youanmite, died 1982 at Shepparton, Victoria. Jessie married Allan Lowry CHESSELLS born 1901 and died in 1977 at Tatura, Victoria.
Thomas Norman ELLIS born 1903 at Youanmite and died 1945 at Yarrawonga, Victoria, the same year his mother Mary Goould ELLIS (nee ROBERTSON) died (10th November 1903). Mary is buried at Old Myrtleford Cemetery.
Jane's father, Peter ELLIS married again in 1907 to Caroline (Carol) MATTHEWS born in 1880 at Myrtleford, Victoria to parents Richard MATTHEWS (1853-1908) and Jane BYTHELL (1857-1937). Caroline MATTHEWS died in 1973 in Wangaratta, Victoria and is buried with her husband Peter ELLIS at the Katamatite Cemetery.
Peter and Caroline had 4 or 5 children.
Twins - Richard and John born at Youanmite in 1908 both died aged 1 day old.
Peter ELLIS born 1909 and John born 1914, died 1915 at Youanmite, Victoria and possibly one other child.
Jane Florence ELLIS married Garnet FORD on 20th June 1929 (his second wife) and died on 25th June 1976. Garnet and Jane FORD are buried together at the Katandra Cemetery.
